Speakers' Corner | Advertising/Brand Identity | 2008 | Banner | Information | 1 2

Speakers’ Corner was an event held in Nottingham city centre earlier this year with the broad aim to promote face-to-face discussion and debate amongst the community. I designed two poster banners to encourage a diverse part of the community to participate.

Focusing on the fun and passionate side of diverse debate I created six quirky, distinctive characters out of speech marks – each one representing a stereotypical character in the community. Each character is proposing a different topic to get the audience thinking and the details of the event are displayed clearly below.

The vibrant colours and simple shapes grab peoples’ attention and the simple slogan acts as a call to action. To promote the event further I designed six different flyers, die-cut into the shape of the characters.

I designed this promotional material while on a work placement at Purple Circle.
